It takes many visits to the Buffalo Gap Historic Village to take it all in. Fortunately, you can purchase an annual membership that lets you come back as often as you want.

Your membership purchase helps provide the ongoing maintenance and operations of the Village and may be tax deductible under IRS guidelines.

Basic membership levels include free admission and gift shop discounts; upper levels of membership also include admission and benefits to 1,300 other museums, gardens, and zoos in six countries.

Standard benefits at all annual membership levels include:

  • Unlimited admission for one to the Historic Village

  • Discounts on tickets to most fundraising events

  • Invitations to special events (requires email address)

  • 10% discount in our gift shop

*Reciprocal benefits at other institutions:

The North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association connects people and museums across six countries, boasting members from arts and history museums to botanical gardens, children’s museums, science centers, and more.

If you plan to travel elsewhere in Texas, anywhere in the US, or to Bermuda, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, or Mexico, be sure to confirm your NARM-eligible membership in the Buffalo Gap Historic Village to get free admission at other NARM museums.  See NARM details here

Please note that the IRS has determined that membership in a nonprofit organization does not yield tangible goods or services and is therefore fully tax-deductible by law.

A huge shout-out to our 2023-24 sponsors

Dian Graves Owen Foundation

Many thanks to our event partners and friends

Volunteers

As a 501(c)3 organization, we are reliant on volunteers for many of our program and events.  If you are interested in volunteering, chances are one of our opportunities is just right for you.

Village Greeters

Work in our admissions office, helping visitors get their tickets, selling them maps or items from the gift shop, answering questions about the Village.  Training provided!

Special Events

Helping out during the Scarecrow Festival, Christmas Tea, Comanche Moon, weddings, or other special events where extra hands and creative minds are always needed.

Fundraising

Helping us find and apply for appropriate grants or identify foundations who may have an interest in helping launch new educational programs.

Education

Participating in our school field trips, either helping shepherd groups of students on their rounds, or serving as a volunteer teacher at one of the buildings. Training and curriculum provided!

Maintenance

Despite having some professional help, there is always more to do. Dusting, sweeping, straightening, mowing, painting, repairing, fixing.

Leadership

Serve on an advisory committee in a specific discipline (marketing, finance, legal, facility maintenance, etc.), or on the board of directors. Share your professional expertise!

Make a donation

As a small 501(c)3 organization with minimal staff and a nominal budget, the Buffalo Gap Historic Village is very appreciative of donations, no matter the size.  The pocket change from a few visitors or the year-end generosity of a few families can make a big impact.

Please click here to make a one-time donation; or set up a recurring donation if you are able. (working on donation form – need to discuss whether to link to Constant Contact, Paypal, or SquareSpace directly)

You may also choose to make your donation through membership in the Village -- and receive free admission for a year. Please note that the IRS has determined that membership in a nonprofit organization does not yield tangible goods or services and is therefore fully tax-deductible by law. Some levels of membership come with reciprocal benefits at more than 1,300 other museums, gardens, and zoos across North America.  (link to membership page)

A membership level of $125 or more in the Buffalo Gap Historic Village also gives you access to all the 1,300 other NARM members – with admission and discount offers they offer in their respective markets.
